Did you know that the Hotel Majestic in San Francisco is rumored to be haunted?
Filled with English and French antiques, old-fashioned claw-foot bathtubs, and Victorian furniture, the hotel certainly has an eerie vibe to it.
But is the Hotel Majestic really haunted? And by whom? Keep reading to find out!
Where to Find the Hotel Majestic
The Hotel Majestic sits atop a small hill right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Union Square and the Financial District of San Francisco.
Built by the Schmitt family in 1902, the Hotel Majestic is a true survivor.
Somehow, the hotel managed to avoid most of the damage caused by the earthquake that devastated San Francisco in 1906.
The Hotel Majestic has stood the test of time and is now considered the longest-operating hotel in San Francisco.
As a result, it is no surprise that, over the years, the hotel has managed to acquire a ghostly resident or two…

Is the Hotel Majestic in San Francisco Really Haunted?
The short answer? Probably, yes.
Many people believe that the fourth floor of the Hotel Majestic is still haunted by the daughter of one of the hotel’s original founders.
Rumor has it, the girl, named Lisa, refused to leave the hotel – her home – after it was sold.
She was so attached to the hotel that her spirit decided to stick around even after her death.
The hotel’s guests have reported all sorts of strange occurrences on the fourth floor of the hotel.
Bathtubs filling with water on their own, faucets turning on (and waking guests in the middle of the night), mysterious footsteps and clanging noises in the hallways… Creepy, huh?
Room 407 is often considered to be the most haunted.
One hotel employee reported feeling someone’s hands pushing her back when she dropped by to leave towels in room 408 (adjacent to Room 407).
However, most guests say that Lisa’s ghost seems to be cheeky and playful, rather than malevolent.
And, if you’ve got $120 to spare, you can stay the night and see for yourself!
