The ghost hunting experts

Hey, We're The Haunt

We’re a team of passionate local ghost hunters dedicated to bringing the spooky history of California to life, with humor and heart.

Who We Are

At The Haunt, we’re history and true crime buffs, ghost hunters, and friendly tour guides all rolled into one. We’re deeply rooted in our cities, with tours led by locals who know the ins and outs of every haunted nook and cranny.

Where We’re From

Born and raised in California (our founders grew up in the Bay Area and San Diego), we operate in our favorite historic cities. Most of our guides are California-raised, or have become serious fans of their city.

Why We’re Legit

The stories we tell are backed by research in old newspaper archives and local interviews. We’re pretty nerdy for history.

The Ghost Hunting Experience

At The Haunt, we believe in making our tours as interactive as possible. That’s why we equip you with modern ghost-hunting tools and take you to the very spots where history’s most spine-chilling events occurred. It’s hands-on, it’s immersive, and honestly gets spooky.

How It Began

Our co-founders Wes Leslie (also a musician) and Jordon Jo (also a musician) met while attending San Francisco State University in 2008, bonding over their interest in music and the unexplained.

The two later moved to New Orleans, which is where they had their own paranormal encounters…

Returning to San Francisco, they were determined to unearth their hometown’s hauntings, doing countless hours of research in the library, historic newspaper collections, and interviewing old timers.

They launched The Haunt, and the company grew quickly, eventually hitting San Francisco’s #1 attraction on TripAdvisor.

Since then, the company has won accolades, appeared on TV shows and inflight magazines,  newspapers, led private events for top universities and corporations, and expanded across California.
